Notice is hereby given that the Westwood Regional Board of Education will be receiving sealed bids at the board offices located at 701 Ridgewood Road, Washington Township, New Jersey 07676, for the Security Vestibule Renovation Project.
This project generally includes the renovation and alterations to the existing main entrances of Five (5) schools to create secure vestibules, including new doors, storefronts, curtainwalls, concrete and masonry work, finishes, lighting, mechanical, electrical, and all associated work as shown on the drawings and specified herein] at [the following Westwood Regional Board of Education Schools:
- Berkeley Elementary School
- Brookside Elementary School
- Jessie F. George Elementary School
- Washington Elementary School
- Westwood Regional High School
A Prebid Meeting will be held on Thursday, January 28th, 2021 beginning at the Lobby of Westwood Regional High School, 701 Ridgewood Road, Township of Washington, NJ 07676.
A copy of the bid instructions, bid forms and specifications Plans may NOT be picked up in person. Electronic versions of the plans and specifications may be purchased for a non-refundable fee of $50.00 CERTIFIED CHECK, CASH OR MONEY ORDER ONLY. All necessary bid specifications and bid forms may be secured upon written request to the Architect, FKA Architects, 306 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland, NJ by sending an email to info@fkarch.com, by calling FKA Architects at 201-644-0505 x200, or online at www.fkarch.com.
All bidders must use and complete all bid forms and must comply with every requirement contained in the instructions and specifications. Bids are to be marked in a sealed envelope and delivered to Keith A. Rosado, Business Administrator at Westwood Regional Board of Education, 701 Ridgewood Road, Township of Washington, NJ 07676 with the name of the project, “Security Vestibule Renovation Project”, plainly marked on the front of the envelope. Every bid must be accompanied by a certified check or a bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid, but not in excess of $20,000.00.
All bidders and their subcontractors shall be registered with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, pursuant to the Public Works Contractor Registration Act, N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq. All bids must be accompanied by a Certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, pursuant to the Public Works Contractor Registration Act as to the Bidder and all subcontractors.
All bidders, including its listed subcontractors, must provide proof that it is registered to conduct business in New Jersey by way of a New Jersey Business Registration Certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Revenue.
Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:2-1 et seq., “The Law Against Discrimination” and Affirmative Action, N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27-1 et seq.
This project is a school facilities project as defined in the Education Facilities Construction and Financing Act, N.J.S.A. 18A:7G-1 et seq. and may be funded in part with grant monies from the New Jersey Schools Development Authority (SDA). All contractors and subcontractors engaged by the Board to work on this project shall agree to be bound by the terms of a Grant Agreement issued by the SDA, which, if applicable, will available for inspection at the Board office during business hours.
No bidder who is on the State Treasurer’s or the Federal Government’s List of Debarred, Suspended or Disqualified Bidders shall be eligible to bid on this project.
Bids must be submitted to the Westwood Regional Board of Education no later than 11:00 am on February 11, 2021. All bids will be opened and read to the public at that time by the School Business Administrator at the board offices. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days from the opening of the bids.
The Westwood Regional Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any informality in the bidding process in accordance with the law if it is in the best interest of the Board of Education. The contract, if awarded, shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid is responsive in all material respects to the bid requirements. No bid shall be deemed accepted until the adoption of a formal resolution by the Westwood Regional Board of Education.
