FKA performed a complete Facilities Review and Long-Range Facility Plan for this K-8, two school District. As a result of the study, a $29.4 million referendum was implemented to execute the projects, including these at Fieldstone Middle School
The projects include extensive renovations to Fieldstone Middle School which will create new space while modernizing the entire front wing of the building. A renovated entry at the front of the school will create a new image for the school that will enhance the functionality and aesthetic of the building while providing accessibility to the key entrances to the building.
Renovations include upgrades to the major core spaces of the building such as the Media Center, STEAM Lab, Art Room, and Music Room. Additionally, existing under-utilized square footage in the building was recovered due to thoughtful programming and planning, resulting in a net gain of an additional 2 classrooms and small group instruction room. A final phase of the project includes renovations to the Multi-Purpose Room for improved functionality and a modern-day aesthetic.
Building system upgrades include the replacement of the fire alarm system, door and hardware, and a completely new mechanical system throughout the building, including boilers, unit ventilators, rooftop units and a new building management system.
In response to the needs of the community, a new fieldhouse will be constructed to serve the District’s athletic complex, a bustling recreational area used by both the school and recreation programs within the community.
