Notice is hereby given that the Montvale Board of Education will be receiving sealed bids at the board offices located at 47 Spring Valley Road, Montvale, NJ 07645, for the Mechanical Replacement Project at Memorial Elementary School.
A pre-bid Meeting will be held at the lobby of Memorial Elementary School, 53 West Grand Avenue, Montvale, NJ 07645 on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 3:30 pm.
The Project consists of the replacement of existing and installation of new boilers, convectors, mechanical units, piping, plumbing, electrical, building controls, and all other associated work as specified and shown on the drawings.
A copy of the bid instructions, bid forms and specifications Plans may NOT be picked up in person. Electronic versions of the plans and specifications are available from the office of the Architect. All necessary bid specifications and bid forms may be secured upon written request to the Architect, FKA Architects, 306 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland, NJ by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, by calling FKA Architects at 201-644-0505, or online at www.fkarch.com.
All bidders must use and complete all bid forms and must comply with every requirement contained in the instructions and specifications. Bids are to be marked in a sealed envelope and delivered to Andrea Wasserman, Business Administrator at Montvale Board of Education, 47 Spring Valley Road, Montvale, NJ 07645, with the name of the project, “Mechanical Replacement Project at Memorial Elementary School” plainly marked on the front of the envelope. Every bid must be accompanied by a certified check or a bid bond in the amount of 10% of the bid, but not in excess of $20,000.00.
All bidders and their subcontractors shall be registered with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, pursuant to the Public Works Contractor Registration Act, N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq. All bids must be accompanied by a Certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, pursuant to the Public Works Contractor Registration Act as to the Bidder and all subcontractors.
All bids must be accompanied by a New Jersey Business Registration Certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Revenue. The Bidder must include with its bid its own Business Registration Certificate and that of all subcontractors.
Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:2-1 et seq., “The Law Against Discrimination” and Affirmative Action, N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27-1 et seq.
This project is a school facilities project as defined in the Education Facilities Construction and Financing Act, N.J.S.A. 18A:7G-1 et seq. and may be funded in part with grant monies from the New Jersey Schools Development Authority (SDA). All contractors and subcontractors engaged by the Board to work on this project shall agree to be bound by the terms of a Grant Agreement issued by the SDA, which, if applicable, will be available for inspection at the Board office during business hours.
No bidder who is on the State Treasurer’s or the Federal Government’s List of Debarred, Suspended or Disqualified Bidders shall be eligible to bid on this project.
Bids must be submitted to the Montvale Board of Education no later than Two o’clock on December 6, 2022. All bids will be opened and read to the public at that time by the School Business Administrator at the board offices. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty days from the opening of the bids.
The Montvale Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any minor informality in the bidding process in accordance with the law if it is in the best interest of the Board of Education. The contract, if awarded, shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid is responsive in all material respects to the bid requirements. No bid shall be deemed accepted until the adoption of a formal resolution by the Montvale Board of Education.
